I am mommy to 2 sweet little girls who were born just 16.5 months apart. Having two children in less than two years did not do my body any favors! I remember a time shortly after our first daughter was born where I stood in our bathroom and cried because I was “only 22 and my body was ruined”. Obviously, hormones had a bit to do with that outburst :).
I firmly believe that the female body was divinely designed to have babies it just takes some time, effort, and determination to get back into shape. I am on a quest to get my body back! Healthy eating is something that I have been passionate about for quite some time but exercise is a fun new passion of mine. Recently , I have fallen in love with Turbo Kick, Spin class, and (GASP) running!
As a Mother, I love having the opportunity to teach my kids how to make healthy choices. I love that our 2-year-old gobbles up salad, thinks that chips are made of kale, that juice is made of veggies, and that milk comes from almonds. Her daddy recently took her “on a date” to McDonald’s and she turned her nose up at the chicken nuggets and fries and would only eat the apple slices. ‘ my girl!
My favorite food and drinks include: Dark Chocolate, Artichokes, Almond Milk, Avocados, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Juice, Sweet Potatoes, Taco Salads, and Eggs Scrambled with Peppers and Onions.
Though the name may suggest it, I am not a “raw foodist”. I have been greatly influenced by Natalia Rose’s book The Raw Food Detox Diet and I loosely follow that style of eating but I don’t feel the need to label my diet with any titles.
